I have danced in Morocco, at a rug merchant. I wasn't quite singing for my supper...just dancing for a good deal on an exquisite Moroccan rug that caught my eye. I would like to dance in Egypt someday... |

Mihrimah began belly dancing in 1992 and, soon thereafter, started performing with the Moon & Star Dance Troupe. Mihrimah branched off and created her own troupe, Tribe Anisa, made of avid students and friends. A few years later, Mihrimah started her second troupe, The Bellystars and performed around NJ. Currently dancing solo and in collaboration with other dancers, Mihrimah is the creator of the "Night of Dark Dance Delights" which is a showcase of Gothic and dark fusion dancers at QXTs in Newark, NJ. She also has been the main belly dance instructor and performer for the past few years at the "Murray Grove Drum and Dance Retreat". Currently, she is coordinating the "Belly Beat Henna Party" with other area artists at UU in Lincroft, NJ. Visit www.shimmyspirit.com for more information on Mihrimah's comings and goings. |

Teaching and performing in Central New Jersey, USA, Mihrimah, of www.shimmyspirit.com, offers classes in Belly Dances at area fitness and yoga centers. She also hosts workshops with live music, in Monmouth County. Mihrimah books from 2-4 weeks out as her belly dance and henna parties are quite popular. |
